“La batalla de Victoria”

Victoria González (20) comenzó su tratamiento hormonal cuándo estaba en tercero medio, el año 2015. En ese momento decidió dejar de ser el “Víctor gay” para comenzar a ser Victoria, como siempre se sintió. Sus esperanzas están puestas en el hospital Carlos Van Buren, ubicado en Valparaíso y pionero en cirugías de genitoplastía. Sin embargo, el costo monetario del tratamiento, aún pone en riesgo su deseo de transformación. 

“Victoria’s Battle”

Victoria González (20) began hormone treatment during her junior of high school in 2015. From that moment on she decided to stop being “Gay Victor” and start being Victoria, like she had always felt she was. Her hopes are set on the hospital Carlos Van Buren, located in Valparaíso, a pioneer in genitoplasty surgeries. However, the cost of the treatment still threatens her desire to make the transformation.

Hasta mediados de 2016 formó parte del VII Programa Mentor. Desde 2014 trabaja como co-fundador de Buen Lugar Ediciones, editorial independiente de fotolibros, establecida en Santiago de Chile. Con el libro A-MOR obtiene el premio al mejor libro de fotografía POY (Picture of the Year) Latam 2017, que cada año destaca lo mejor de la fotografía documental iberoamericana.

Until mid-2016 he was part of the VII Mentor Program. Since 2014 he has worked as co-founder of Buen Lugar Ediciones, an independent photobook publisher, based in Santiago, Chile. His book “A-MOR” won the 2017 LATAM POY (Picture of the Year) Best Photography Book Award, which each year showcases the best in Ibero-American documentary photography.
