“Haras Tronador. El majestuoso caballo lipizzano”

La raza equina Lipizzana tiene sus orígenes en el siglo XVI en Eslovenia, cuando el territorio estaba dominado por la monarquía austriaca de los Habsburgo en Europa. Es un caballo ideal para el entrenamiento de alto nivel. Su blanca belleza, inteligencia y sus armónicos movimientos, hacen de él una raza ideal para adiestramiento y enganche ecuestre. Chile tiene la única granja en América que cría, entrena y reproduce caballos lipizzanos. El Haras Tronador, donde se encuentra la Fundación Lipizzana, se ha convertido en el ecosistema de esta raza. Ubicado en la comuna de Purranque, en la Región de Los Lagos, nació el año 2011 con el objetivo de difundir el arte ecuestre en Chile y como extensión de la tradición de la Escuela Española de Viena, cuyo eje central es la Alta Escuela.

The Lipizzan horse breed origins date back to the 16^th century in Slovenia, when the territory was dominated by the Austrian monarchy of the Habsburgs in Europe.  It is an ideal horse for high-level training.  Its white beauty, intelligence and harmonic movements make it an ideal breed for equestrian training and driving.  Chile has the only farm in America that breeds, trains and reproduces Lipizzan horses.  Haras Tronador, where the Lipizzan Foundation is located, has become the ecosystem for this breed.  Located in the commune of Purranque, in the Region of Los Lagos, was created in 2011with the aim of promoting the equestrian arts in Chile and as an extension of the Spanish Riding School of Vienna’s tradition, which central focus is Alta Escuela.

Es ganador del Premio Fotografía y Derechos Humanos 2013 y obtiene el primer lugar en la categoría Retrato modo reportaje en FotoPrensa 2016, con el proyecto Retratos de la Memoria. El año 2017 consigue el 2° lugar en la categoría Deportes–Serie, del prestigioso concurso de fotografía documental Picture of The Year (POY Latam). Su trabajo ha sido publicado en la revista TIME, The Guardian, Vanity Fair, Holanda Hoogte BV, Stichting Global Voices, Daily News de Nueva York, L’Humanité, Bayard-La Croix, The Hufffington Post, Unikornis, Deutsche Welle, Le HuffPost (Argelia), DPA Internacional y ESPN. 

Documentary photographer focused mainly on long-term projects.  He has worked as a stringer for the agencies Corbis, Getty Images and Nur Photo.  He is the winner of the Photography and Human Rights Award 2013 and was awarded the first place in the Portrait report category in FotoPrensa 2016 with the Retratos de la Memoria project.  In 2017, he was awarded the 2^nd place in the Sports-Series category in the prestigious documentary photography contest Picture of The Year (POY Latam).  His work has been published in the TIME, The Guardian, Vanity Fair, Holanda Hoogte BV, Stichting Global Voices, Daily News of Nueva York, L’Humanité, Bayard-La Croix, The Hufffington Post, Unikornis, Deutsche Welle, Le HuffPost (Argelia), DPA Internacional and ESPN.
