Se inició como fotógrafo el año 1993 y ha trabajado para los diarios La Época y La Nación. Desde hace unos años se desempeña como corresponsal en Chile de la Agencia The Associated Press (AP) y como fotógrafo de la Municipalidad de Santiago. Su trabajo ha sido reconocido desde el comienzo de su carrera profesional. En 1994 obtuvo el premio Foto del Año, entregado por la Unión de Reporteros Gráficos y Camarógrafos de Chile. También fue distinguido en la edición del año 2011 del premio POYi LatAm, en la categoría Reportaje. 

Luis began as a photographer in 1993 and has worked for the newspapers La Época and La Nación. The last few years he has worked as correspondent in Chile for The Associated Press (AP) and as photographer for the Municipality of Santiago. His work has been recognized from the very beginning of his professional career. In 1994, he won the Photo of the Year Award, given by the Association of Photojournalists and Cameramen of Chile. He was also selected in the 2011 POYi Latin America Visual Journalism Contest, in the Report category.
